Indian dancer and choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan recently shared a disturbing incident on his Instagram Live, claiming that he was harassed by an immigration officer at the Bengaluru International airport on Wednesday.

What Did Happen In The Incident?
Salman Yusuff Khan revealed that he was asked to speak in Kannada by the officer, and when he explained that he didn’t know the Kannada language very well, the officer allegedly continued to speak to him in Kannada, suspecting him of something.
Salman Yusuff Khan, who was traveling to Dubai from Bengaluru, narrated the entire incident on his Instagram Live, saying that he felt harassed by the officer. The dancer also shared that he was trying to report the incident to the airport authorities. He was seen wearing a pink T-shirt, jacket, and a hat during the video, and initially spoke with his mask on, but later removed it. You can see the video posted by him below.

Tagging the “Kempegowda International Airport” in his post, he explained that the immigration officer showed him his passport, pointed out his name, his birthplace, his father’s name, and his birthplace, and said that he and his father were born in Bangalore but couldn’t speak Kannada.
Salman replied that being born in Bangalore didn’t mean he was born with the language and added that he was a Saudi child brought up in Saudi Arabia.
Salman also claimed that the officer continued to speak to him in Kannada, even when he explained that he didn’t know the language very well. He added that when he tried to speak in Hindi, the officer said that he could suspect him of anything.
Salman got a little louder and repeated “TRY ME” thrice to the officer when he said that he could suspect him. The dancer added that he told the officer that if uneducated people like him continued to live in the country, the country would never grow. The officer kept his head down and murmured, according to Khan.
Salman stated that while he wanted to report the incident, he didn’t get any help on how to do so. He also shared that while he was proud to be a “Bangalorean,” he didn’t appreciate being demeaned for not knowing the local language properly.

Salman Yusuff Khan started his career as the first winner of the reality show Dance India Dance in 2009. He has since appeared on numerous TV dance shows as a choreographer and dancer and acted in Bollywood films like Wanted (2009), ABCD: Anybody Can Dance (2013), and Street Dancer 3D (2020).
